Facebook Phone Rumor Denied

Facebook Phone Rumor Denied – The tech rumor of the moment that started few days ago claimed that Facebook was currently working on a phone has been disproved by Jaime Schöpflin, the spokesman for Facebook. Schöpflin stated: “The bottom line is that whenever we work on a deep integration, people want to call it a ‘Facebook Phone’ because that’s such an attractive soundbite, but building phones is just not what we do.”

This statement was released via Mashable, after an article on Techcrunch was published and spread quickly on many sites over the weekend.

It seems that Facebook wants to focus on just dominating the software platforms.

Too bad, we would have liked to have a Facebook phone or FacePhone. That said, Facebook could still be working on a smartphone in the biggest secrecy, in that light denying the rumor would make sense.
