Microsoft Wants To Buy Adobe [Report] – The CEOs of Adobe and Microsoft got together for a meeting behind closed doors in a very strange twist following the recent market developments.
The meeting lasted over an hour and covered a range of topics, mainly the presence of Apple and Google on the mobile OS market. The New York Times reported that, the two companies want to counter this trend and have mentioned the possibility of a takeover of Adobe by Redmond.
Both companies enemies in 2007 with the release of Silverlight now have a common problem, which is that they are largely overshadowed on the scene and remain in the shadow of their competitors when it comes to smartphones.

It is true that Microsoft will soon give the kick-off of Windows Mobile 7 and Flash on Android made its debut this year.
Nevertheless, sales of new smartphones put them a little more on the bench, the solutions of Adobe represent only a tiny part of the new platforms and Microsoft being completely out of the competition is looking for something fresh.
Rumors of a takeover pushed the action from Adobe by 10%, but many analysts have risen to assert that such an operation would never see the day. We here at Techopi prefer to wait and see, instead of making wild predictions, but we have to admit that the idea of a partnership that would unite the strengths of both vendors in the smartphone market is more likely than a full acquisition of the company.
Adobe’s stock dropped on Friday after Thursday’s gain as the Microsoft deal rumors spread like wildfires.
